German Government Nanotechnology Action Plans

Since 2006, eight ministries have published an action plan on nanotechnology at five-year intervals. Within the interministerial steering group, led by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the ministries developed a common approach that pools strategies for action and fields of application for nanotechnology.

The third and most recent Nanotechnology Action Plan 2020 was adopted by the Cabinet in autumn 2016. It built on its predecessors, the Action Plan Nanotechnology 2015 and the Nano-Initiative – Action Plan 2010.
