Radon action plan
01.03.2019 | Broschüre | Nr. 16006for the long-term reduction of radon exposure
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive noble gas. It is invisible, has no smell or taste and is an intermediate product of the decay of radioactive materials that are naturally present in the soil. Radon can seep into buildings through pathways and accumulate in the indoor air. Radon decay and radon decay products in the lungs are the second most common cause of lung cancer in Germany after tobacco smoking.
The radon action plan explains the measures by the Federation and Länder for radon protection in Germany.
