n the framework of Sino-German cooperation on climate protection, a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, headed by Director-General Zhang Kening, visited Berlin for talks on 25 November 2010.

In the framework of Sino-German cooperation on climate protection, a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, headed by Director-General Zhang Kening, visited the Federal Environment Ministry in Berlin for talks on 25 November 2010. In China, the Ministry of Commerce is the national coordinator of bilateral technical cooperation. In talks with the BMU Director-General Urban Rid, successes in existing cooperation were summed up and procedures for future cooperation were discussed. Additionally, cooperation in five further projects was agreed in the fields of monitoring greenhouse gases, energy efficiency in buildings and sustainable transport management.

At the invitation of the Chinese Embassy, a Joint Declaration on the projects agreed was signed by Deputy Director-General Berthold Goeke and Director-General Zhang Kening at the offices of the business and trade department at the Chinese Embassy in Berlin. The projects are due to start before the end of 2010.
